A Century of Housing Meets Gulf Coast Humidity
Prichard incorporated as a city on September 16, 1925, named for developer Cleveland Mason Prichard, and added World War II-era worker housing as Mobile's shipbuilding industry expanded; the city's population peaked near 47,000 in the early 1960s.
